This document outlines everything you need to know about roleplaying at KAF, since we have some odd and unusual policies that other forums just don't have the honor of having .

However, if you are new to roleplaying entirely, please read Getting Started on Roleplaying first, and then revisit this page to read this post.


All roleplaying forums are under the "Roleplaying" category. The forums are:

• Roleplaying Discussion: Where announcements are made and where discussion can be posted regarding the roleplaying forums
• Character Biographies: You may optionally post character biographies here rather than in the roleplaying threads themselves.
• Anime RP: Roleplays based off an anime series can be posted here (i.e. NARUTO, Full Metal Alchemist, Code Geass, etc.)
• Non-anime-themed RP: Roleplays based NOT off an anime series can be posted here (i.e. Halo, Morrowind, or your original story).
• Member-based RP: You can have a "roleplaying duel" with another member (or another group), or you can participate in a member-run "clan" (to be discussed later).
• Adult RP: These are for roleplays that have adult themes, regardless if they are based off an anime or not.

All roleplays must be designated a "level" which defines the expectations of its participants.

• Level 1:
  • Background and plot: Not required;
  • Grammar and spelling: Some errors accepted;
  • Post length: 1-4+ paragraphs per post (min. 1 paragraph)
• Level 2:
  • Background and plot: Developed and explained;
  • Grammar and spelling: Few errors accepted;
  • Post length: 2-4+ paragraphs per post
• Level 3:
  • Background and plot: Developed, explained, deep, and possibly directed and moderated;
  • Grammar and spelling: Proofread, proofread, proofread;
  • Post length: 3-5+ paragraphs per post;
  • OOC cleanups: Remove out-of-character addendum and posts after the matter has been resolved

When creating a new roleplay thread in any of the roleplay forums, you will be asked to select the roleplay level.


Clans are groups of roleplayers who roleplay together as part of their clan in "clan battles," battle RPs between two or more clans. In addition, clans have their own forum at their disposal, allowing them to conduct private roleplays amongst themselves to practice.

All clans are member-run and managed; however, they must be strictly be used for roleplay, at off-topic posts unrelated to roleplaying will have consequences. Clans are also under the jurisdiction of KAF roleplay staff and are still part of the greater roleplaying ecosystem here, and thus must act accordingly.

To get into a clan, visit the Roleplaying Clans forum to join in a clan. Members of your clan, should you join one, should be able to explain how the system works.


Remember to look at the roleplay levels mentioned above. Note that there is no "level 0," indicating that we have no tolerance for spammy or overly-short RPs. Don't forget this!

And lastly, remember that we want GOOD grammar and GOOD spelling.
