Long story short: Another site copied our index (seemingly not uncommon) of episodes, the media got wind of it because it also had a large library of American episodes, and YouTube had to remove it or the media would have been all over it. Because their copied index had our episodes, the episodes are no longer available here.

Conclusion: We will be sustaining this feature for a while but we have NO OTHER PLANS to sustain the viewing of anime via other mediums. DO NOT SUGGEST HOSTING EPISODES. DO NOT SUGGEST UPLOADING TO ANOTHER SITE. DO NOT SUGGEST BUILDING A PRIVATE INDEX. WE ARE NOT INTERESTED IN YOU ADVERTISING YOUR DL/ONLINE ANIME SITE.

And a last note: We were the FIRST AND FOREMOST index of YouTube-hosted anime. Several exact unauthorized copies of our index have been created (about all sites with "online anime episodes by YouTube" are not original in index).

EXPLANATION

CNet News ran an article about YouTube.com, the source and host of all our anime, and another website (will not be named) that indexed episode content very similarly to what is done here. In response, YouTube made sure to have the "links dead".

The problem stems from the fact that this other website had an unauthorized copy of our index (which was produced entirely by ourselves) from a while back, and YouTube had direct access to all the episodes of this index. Because the bulk of the episode links have not changed between the old stolen index and that one we had more recently, the purge affected our index immensely. Only 39.2% of our index remains; 137 series were wiped.

It is unfortunate that we had to present this loss to our users in such a sudden and unexpected manner. It is to our dismay that we are no longer able to provide very much access to those who are unable to purchase or otherwise obtain anime due to economic and social reasons of their community or country. Fifty-percent of our visitors were foreign, with a large number of them visiting from developing countries where the availability of anime is less than plausible.

We will continue to run our service for as long as possible. We thank the community for their support.

We apologize for not making an official release at an earlier time but we've been tied up with other matters not related to Os2 Anime and/or Keiichi Anime Forever.

ALL OTHER YOUTUBE-POWERED ONLINE ANIME SITES ARE PROBABLY RIP-OFFS. Several sites, just like the one CNET featured, has also taken our index, and offer LESS. If the list is similar to ours (especially if it has "Anime Sampler"), you can expect it was a copy of our index. None of these sites have the speed of update, quality, or technical expertise of us here.

I've been using this site for a while, and I'm wonder if the site will be shut down any time soon as a result of this?

Is there any chance that you will be able to re-load the anime that was lost? I was watching Wolf's Rain myself, and I wanted to see that 4th Inuyasha movie.

It makes me sad that most of the series have been purged; it is to my hope that the anime can return. I was in the middle of watching Onegai Teacher until its sudden disappearence. Wellm good luck to you guys. It makes me sad that this has happened.

I just want to say thank you for keeping the site up as long as you guys have. I enjoyed many of the series although it has only been a few days since it was shown to me. I appreciate all your work.

Didn't this site operate by having users upload videos to youtube from this site? Well, couldn't users just upload the anime again (assuming they still had it)? And if the probelm is with YouTube, wouldn't it be possible for you guys to go to another video site? I mean, there are several others besides YouTube (Eyespot, Grouper, Jumpcut, Ourmedia, Revver, Videoegg, Vimeo, vSocial, and I am sure that there are others), I am sure one of them would be accomidating. Although, I may be missinterpreting the situation.

Anyway, thanks for everything you guys have done, do, and will continue doing in the future, you guys are great.

I made it about there as well until the notices started coming up, but then I searched YouTube.com and found other people that have uploaded the episodes as well. I am on 41 now, however that episode is nowhere to be found on youtube.com. ;

I have been watching for a while now and I just wanted to say thanks for all the hard work you have put into this great site.

This really sucks! I was only on episode 32 of Bleach! Now I don't know where to go! But still, you guys keeping the site up and running is great. Thanks!

Meh well I hope this whole problem gets fixed, I really liked KAF. Guess I'll have to do it "manually" from youtube page. Most members are actually re-uploading anime Let's just hope Youtube doesn't "kill" links again. And most anime that was deleated were popular series.. ;_;...So.. what can I do other than wishing Good Luck and if possible update Yah I know it's very demanding... I live in Mexico where anime is almost inexistant. All we got is Toonami 8-) but there's no Naruto meh they just recently aired One Piece!! Yes, it IS copyright infringement to upload anime series to YouTube, and it IS illegal (and furthermore, YouTube's terms of service deliberately mention that when new users sign up for YouTube, so there's no excuse). I can't blame them for following through with what the law requires them to do.

But thank you for the explanation. At least now people can understand a little more about why so many episodes were terminated.

A lot of unpopular series were deleted as well. It really depended on what was on the old version of our index.

YouTube only killed the links because the media caught wind of a site that hosted American content. They could give a hoot about anything foreign, which is both fortunate and unfortunate. I have no position to hold on this matter really.

-Sigh- Just when vacation were bout to start ;_; Yah I kinda noticed.. But I think the upload of anime in Youtube is being constant so I predict that in a couple of weeks/months this would be solved. That's if youtube does nothing about it...

Eh... I don't really get whats going on, but basically YouTube had to wipe everything, right? And everything is gone for good? Or is stuff gonning slowly come back and after so-so amount o' time and everything is gonning be like it was before...? Or is everything over?

Also I guess I've been watching a lot of the series for a long time, and I'm really grateful for it all, I have enjoyed a lot of series, and I hoped to enjoy a lot more... But I am grateful, so thank you guys! ^^;

I just found out this site 2 weeks ago.
I realy love it here.
I was watching Bleach and I have never seen so much episodes before.
I just could watch 10 episodes a day. Normally I must down load them in a day.
I heard someone saying that he/she lives in Mexico.
And that there is no anime there.
We never had in this country anime.
Only Dragonball Z but I think evry country had that on t.v.

Whoah....I never seen such a guest rush......amazing.
