Don't do none of the patching if you do patching then the sakexe.exe that i included wont work most likely...

I did no patching on my client all i did was fresh install of both then copyed over the data folder and sakexe.exe to the RO folder and ran sakexe.exe and it started right up for me.

But like i said its on my own network. And so far no one else has gotten to work it seams don't think its my end all the sever windows are up and apear to be running normaly.

I will check tho.. I do see that a new account Jarin has been made.

I'll look into it might have a setting mixed up but don't think so.

I'm still down loading the files. Started yesterday. *Sigh*

Well, once I've got this done, I'll let you know how it works.

Okay, either it's not allowing me to make an account, the server is down, or it doesn't like the name I'm choosing. Either way, I can't get past the login screen.

Be sure to remember that the first time you login you have to login with the name you want followed by _F or _M for female or male.

Also the User name has to be at lease 4 i think.

And if anyone one of you that has this all installed might want to give me a shout on yahoo or something that way we can try and get this figured out go for it that way don't have to wait for posts or nothing lol.

I could create an account after I put the IP instead of the URL in the sclient.xml, but I can't get any further.

And I'll ask again, what emulator are you using? eAthena or something else?

Dude, it's in Korean. How the hell am I supposed to know what it's saying?

I'm attempting to use KAFSpyder_M. But when I enter a password, it comes up with some weird Korean message, then returns me to the Login menu.

ChosenOne, if you do run on eAthena, would you please zip/rar the conf folder from your server directory and mail it to me? I'll be able to tell whether it's set up properly in a flash.

I had almost started one called SymphonyRO. I had most of it running, but doing a Server is harder then it looks.

I believe I still have my old Patches and Custom things for SRO somewhere.

I think I hosted 3 or 4 RO servers by now, about 20-25 gameservers in total. It really isn't that hard...

Make sure yours looks like that and long as your useing the correct sakexe.exe you should be able to join and make an account with out any problems now. Sense someone has now done so.

don't know what you fixed, but it works (and my sclient looked like that from day one )

Think it was the stuff that was commented out. All well lease its working now..

Rates I'm still desideing on. As of right now there just normal. The server right now is max lvl 99 tho I know with some changes it can goto 255.

So tell i change it to 255 thinking of doing a rate of x5 or maybe x10 don't know yet.
I will think it over while I'm doing r/l stuff today.

if the max levels are changed I'm out (sorry)... ruins the entire game. Why bother making a build or hunting equipment if you can godmode your stats

And in my opinion 20~25 are nice rates. Both for players who start out - they will have to go to various stages of leveling - and for the players who already know the game, since they will be able to level up quite fast.

As for me, the latter is a good reason since I've seen the leveling already. I've grinded countless characters to 99 and to 9x again, it's the boring part of RO after all: leveling. Yet I am apposed to high rate servers.

For items, let it be about 80% of the experience rates and flag them to be logaritmic, means that high rate items are way less effected by the boost than rare drops. In other words, it prevents a poring from spoiling empty bottles, jellopies and apples on every kill.

I'll be looking forward to the rate changes, spending an 1.5 hour to become 1-1 class isn't much fun...

I also suggest you put up a control panel for account creation (and money transfer and such) but I will leave that completely up to you... Depends on how much time you're willing to put into this

20 - 25 seems a bit high, especially considering you're proposing we keep the level limit at 99. You'll shoot to max level in no time, and then where are you? Partying isn't exactly going to work well, considering there's only about a max of 5 of us interested at the moment, and we all have different schedules.

Considering that, the server is going to need to focus on individual power. 2 - 5 growth is fine to me, we'll see about the 99 limit.

My experience with 20-25 is that it will take a hunter (which would be the best soloable class) without prior equipment or help of others about 30 hours to reach lvl 99. With my current schedule that would be over 6 weeks of playing, not even to mention rebirthing and gathering equipment. Off course, people who have time on their hands and know the game will have a 9x rebirth in 1 week time, but I don't like to believe there are too much people that will play RO for 20 hours a day. Also, the 25 was considering new players trying out different classes.

About the maximum level, honestly, Gravity didn't come up with the stat point distribution system they have now because it just turned out that way. The 1200-and-something statpoints you receive make sure you have to balance your character build well and it actually makes the difference in characters. Giving more skillpoints to acolyte and mage classes simply makes them overkill while other classes don't benefit at all.

Considering the fact that we have to rely on ourselves rather than parties I would say that there's is another reason to keep the rates medium rather than low, but that's just my experience.

I've played 5/5/2, 2/2/1, 7/7/5, 15/15/10, 25/25/15 and high rate, of those options I'd say 15/15/10 and 25/25/15 were the most interesting. The 'problem' of RO is that your actual max level isn't 99 but 198, with 7x rates leveling gets slow after 80, with 15x after 95 and with 25 after rebirth 80.

With that said, I do agree that 25 is over the top, but I would like you to consider 15, particulary because of some new players who will want to explore the classes. I haven't played the game seriously in quite a while so I don't exactly remember the effect of certain rates. The last server was 15/15/7 and some good memories.

Edit: made a merchant this afternoon, and I'm curious what the rates are now, they feel nice.

Yes, the rates seem to have increased. I'm kind of curious on this myself.

Personally, I'm running Varl (Novice) and Spyder (Thief), but Spyder hasn't been posted in my sig yet. Should be interesting to see how things work out. Might actually be able to give RO a fair shot this time. Last time was...meh....

Working on a acolyte -> priest right now, these lower levels are difficult without help xD
